An operator wishing to manufacture a new product with added mercury or to place such a product on the market, or to use a new manufacturing process using mercury, must notify the Ministry of the Environment and submit information in accordance with Article 8(3)(a)-(d) of the Regulation. This includes, for example, a technical description of the product or process in question, an assessment of its environmental and health benefits and risks.

Reporting on major sources of mercury waste. Operators in the natural gas purification and non-ferrous metal mining and metallurgy industries shall send the data referred to in Article 12(1)(a) to (f) to the Ministry of the Environment by 31 May each year. This includes, for example, data on the total amount of mercury waste stored at each of their installations.
