A health care professional (doctor, dentist and pharmacist) is obliged to prove (e.g. at the request of the Ministry of Health, the Czech Medical Chamber, employer) his/her fitness to practise by a medical opinion issued on the basis of a medical examination, a) before commencing to practise the profession and before continuing to practise the profession if the practice of the profession has been interrupted for more than 3 years, b) in the event of a reasonable suspicion that there has been a change in the health status of the health care professional.

Proof of good character is always required prior to the commencement of the exercise of the health profession (of a doctor, dentist or pharmacist) or in other justified cases; during the exercise of the health profession, in justified cases, also at the request of the employer, in the case of an employee, or at the request of the administrative authority which has issued the doctor, dentist or pharmacist with a licence to provide health services under the Health Services Act.

A health service provider or other natural or legal person who intends to carry out education in the educational programme of an accredited institution shall submit a written application for accreditation to the Ministry of Health.

Obligation of the accredited institution to notify the Ministry of Health within 10 days at the latest of any change in the conditions related to the provision of education according to the educational programme.

If an accredited facility is interested in obtaining a subsidy to finance specialisation training, it is necessary to submit an application for a subsidy to the relevant subsidy programme of the Ministry of Health.
