The seller's obligation to provide the consumer with material information that is necessary in the circumstances and factual context of the commercial practice to enable the consumer to make a purchase decision. Material information includes, for example, information on the address and identity of the seller, the price including taxes, the right of withdrawal, whether published reviews are verified, etc. This information must be provided in a clear, comprehensible and unambiguous manner and at an appropriate time in order to avoid misleading commercial practices.

The seller is obliged to properly inform the consumer about the use and maintenance of the product, the dangers and risks. The seller shall provide the consumer with written instructions whenever necessary in view of the nature of the product or service sold and the manner and duration of its use. The information in the written instructions must be clear and comprehensible and provided to the consumer on a durable medium (e.g. paper, CD or USB drive, email message). However, the consumer may ask the seller to provide instructions in paper form where it is not unreasonable to do so, for example if he or she buys from a bricks-and-mortar shop because he or she is not technically savvy.
